Discover the rhythm of real bread with Tawnya Deeths of The Peaceful Acre Baker in this immersive, hands-on workshop. Whether you’re new to baking or looking to deepen your sourdough skills, this class will ground you in traditional techniques and practical kitchen know-how.
Tawnya will guide you through bakers' math, recipe formulas, flour selection, and the steps of mixing, kneading, shaping, and proofing sourdough. You'll also learn how to bake your loaf in a home oven, ensuring that your bread is both beautiful and delicious.
During the class, you’ll learn about feeding and maintaining a starter, mix a dough from scratch, and shape a your own pre-fermented loaf to take home and bake. Along the way, you’ll sample a few different styles of sourdough, connect with fellow bread lovers, and gain the skills to keep baking at home.
You’ll leave with:
- You own living sourdough starter
- One shaped loaf ready to bake that evening
- One proofed dough to shape and bake with later
- Banneton basket
- A set of recipes and notes
Come ready to get your hands in some dough and leave with the confidence to keep the practice going at home
