Medicinal Mixology: The Art of Botanical Bitters | Thursday November 13
Date: Thursday, November 13, 5-7 pm
Explore the intersection of herbalism and craft cocktails in this hands-on workshop with Chef and Herbalist Kim LaVere, owner of Land + Local. Learn how botanical bitters bring balance, complexity, and wellness to both drinks and daily rituals.
We’ll begin with a guided tasting of bitters from Kim’s apothecary, exploring how flavor, aroma, and herbal energetics work together. You’ll learn the foundations of bitters blending, how to use both dried and fresh herbs from local farms, and the basics of formulation—so you can confidently craft your own blends at home.
Then, roll up your sleeves and create your own custom bitters blend in a pint jar to take home and infuse—it will be ready to strain and enjoy just in time for the holiday season. To round out your apothecary toolkit, we’ll also make a flavorful herbal salt blend, perfect for adding a botanical touch to cooking or gifting.
In this workshop you’ll:
- Taste a selection of handcrafted bitters from Kim’s apothecary
- Learn the foundations of blending and formulating botanical bitters
- Create a jar of custom bitters to infuse at home

You’ll take home: your own infused bitters blend and a handcrafted herbal salt.
