Gifting Naturally: Handmade Felted Soap Bars | Saturday, November 29
Date: Saturday, November 29 • 10 am-12 pm
A hands-on workshop with Hanna the Wool Witch
Join us on Small Business Saturday for a hands-on workshop with Hanna, The Wool Witch, and learn the art of wet felting while creating a thoughtful, all-natural gift for yourself or someone you love. This gathering is great for all ages—a perfect way to unwind after Thanksgiving and spend time making something beautiful together.
In this workshop, we’ll layer plant-dyed, locally sourced raw wool over handmade, old-fashioned lard-based soaps. Through the wet felting process, you’ll transform these natural materials into a combined soap and washcloth bar that’s both practical and beautiful.
Your finished felted soap bar will be exfoliating, long-lasting, naturally antimicrobial, and delightfully lathering. As the soap is used, the wool gently shrinks around it—creating a bar that lasts far longer than a typical soap.
During the workshop, Hanna will share insights into:
- The wet felting process and how fibers bond
- Basic overview of traditional soapmaking
- Natural plant dyes used to color the wool
Each participant will make one felted soap bar in class and take home an extra bar to continue the fun at home.
Whether you come solo or with family, this is a warm, creative way to celebrate Small Business Saturday, support local makers, and craft something truly unique.
You’ll take home: two bars of felted soap (one made in class, one to make at home)
All materials provided. No experience necessary.
Cost: $90
