Cozy up this season with a pair of handmade felted slippers! In this two-session class, you’ll learn how to knit and felt your own warm, durable slippers using Malabrigo Worsted yarn—a beautifully soft, richly dyed wool that transforms into a dense, comfortable fabric once felted.
Perfect for confident knitters looking to expand their skills, this class will guide you through each stage of the process, from shaping and construction to felting and finishing touches.
In Class 1:
- Learn to knit with two strands of yarn for extra warmth and structure
- Shape your slipper and learn how to pick up stitches for a seamless construction
In Class 2:
- Explore short-row shaping for a perfect fit
- Learn how to felt your slippers for a custom finish
- Try optional embellishment techniques to personalize your pair
By the end, you’ll have a cozy, handmade pair of slippers and the know-how to make more for yourself or as thoughtful gifts.
Materials Needed (Not included in workshop cost and available for purchase at Gather):
- 2 skeins Malabrigo Worsted
- Size 11 circular needles (20" or 24")
- Darning needle and stitch markers
