Discover the magic of botanical color in this hands-on bundle dyeing workshop with Hanna the Wool Witch. Using dried flowers and natural dye materials, you’ll explore how different fibers absorb and hold color—comparing animal and plant fibers through direct experimentation.

In this workshop you’ll:

  • Learn the fundamentals of botanical bundle dyeing
  • Explore how flowers create different colors and patterns on animal and plant fibers
  • Practice arranging and wrapping techniques for strong botanical imprints
  • Steam and reveal your finished dyed pieces

Each participant will create and take home:

  • A skein of locally sourced alpaca and wool blend yarn from Integrity Alpaca
  • A skein of 100% cotton sashiko thread.

Through the dye process, you’ll see firsthand how protein and plant fibers respond differently to botanical color. You’ll leave with finished dyed materials and the confidence to continue experimenting with botanical dyeing at home.

No prior dye experience required. All materials provided. Please wear clothes that can handle a little color.

Cost: $125

All fees are non-refundable. If cancellation is made AT LEAST 7 days before the workshop date, a store credit will be issued as a digital gift certificate that may be applied to any future class or used in the retail store.

Classes are transferable. If you cannot find someone to take your spot, please email info@gathersebastopol.com and we will offer it to the waitlist (if any).

If a class doesn't meet the minimum registration, we reserve the right to cancel up to 24 hours before the class and will offer a credit, refund, or reschedule.
