Ready to move from practice to your first finished project? In this 2-part workshop, you’ll knit the Sophie Scarf (or shawl) by PetiteKnit, a simple, satisfying project that builds confidence while creating something you can wear or gift.

This workshop focuses on helping you understand how knitting patterns work, while introducing the key techniques needed to shape a garment.

In this workshop you’ll:

  • Learn how to read and follow a knitting pattern
  • Practice basic increases and decreases
  • Build confidence in shaping your knitting
  • Work through the Sophie Scarf pattern from start to finish

You’ll leave with a finished (or nearly finished) scarf and the skills to confidently take on future knitting projects.

This quick, versatile pattern is perfect for everyday wear or handmade gifts.

Prerequisites:

Students should be comfortable with knit stitch and basic knitting skills.

Supplies list:

  • Sophie Scarf (purchased from Raverly, or we can help you purchase it instore)
  • Yarn purchased at Gather (we recommend Malabrigo Rios, Malabrigo Arroyo, Di Gilpin Laland DK, or Blue Sky Fibers Brushed Suri)
  • Recommended needle size for selected yarn

All fees are non-refundable. If cancellation is made AT LEAST 7 days before the workshop date, a store credit will be issued as a digital gift certificate that may be applied to any future class or used in the retail store.

Classes are transferable. If you cannot find someone to take your spot, please email info@gathersebastopol.com and we will offer it to the waitlist (if any).

If a class doesn't meet the minimum registration, we reserve the right to cancel up to 24 hours before the class and will offer a credit, refund, or reschedule.
