A hands-on garden workshop
Tomatoes and peppers are two of the most rewarding crops to grow—but strong plants and a good harvest start with the right timing and care early in the season.
In this hands-on workshop, we’ll walk through the key stages of growing tomatoes and peppers, from seedling care to transplanting and ongoing maintenance. You’ll learn how to give young plants the conditions they need to thrive and how to support them through the growing season.
In this workshop you’ll:
- Learn when to sow tomatoes and peppers and how to care for young seedlings
- Understand how and when to pot up plants as they grow
- Practice transplanting seedlings with proper depth and soil preparation
- Explore fertility and fertilizer strategies for healthy growth
- Learn irrigation best practices for tomatoes and peppers
- Understand pruning, plant support, and seasonal maintenance
- Discuss common pests and diseases and how to prevent them
During the workshop, we’ll demonstrate potting up seedlings into larger containers and discuss how to prepare your garden beds for transplanting.
Each participant will take home three tomato or pepper seedlings to grow out and plant in their own garden.
No prior gardening experience required.
